Gayatri Pillai     24 Oct 2017

Halloween is just around the corner and if you still have no idea what to dress up as, why not add a desi spin to your look? The look involves dressing as a traditional desi bride…with scary face makeup.

This trend started off with an Instagram post by artist Maria Qamar, who posted a image to promote an exhibition she was running alongside artist and Instagram influencer Babbu The Painter. Make up artist, Jasmine Lakhesar later recreated this image and brought it to life adding her own unique spin to the look and sharing it on her social media page. Since then this trend has exploded with various Youtubers, bloggers and make up artists creating their own versions of scary make up, paired with Indian attires and absolutley slaying it.

So if you are stuck for idea of what to go as this Halloween, throw on your best desi outfit and get creative with your cosmetics and make up brushes.

If you want to see how to create these looks, why not check out a few of our favorite creations by clicking the links below for inspiration, as well as step by step instructions to achieve the most impressive looks this Halloween.

2) You can never go wrong with a simple skull make up look for Halloween. If you are looking for something little less scary and more chic, this look incorporates dark smokey eyes and sculpted cheekbones so you can look stunning, yet spooky.

3) Simple and straightforward, yet scary to look at. The key to pulling off this half skull face bride look is a shading and contouring. Finish off with some circle lens contacts and you are all done and ready for the night.
